Sharon Stone’s words:
“Well you know it was very interesting because at first, you know, I am not happy about the ways the Chinese were treating the Tibetans because I don’t think anyone should be unkind to anyone else. And so I have been very concerned about how to think and what to do about that because I don’t like that. And I had been this, you know, concerned about, oh how should we deal with the Olympics because they are not being nice to the Dalai Lama, who is a good friend of mine.
And all these earthquake and stuff happened and I thought: Is that karma, when you are not nice that bad things happen to you?
And then I got a letter, from the Tibetan Foundation that they want to go and be helpful. And that made me cry. And they ask me if I would write a quote about that and I said, “I would.” And it was a big lesson to me, that some times you have to learn to put your head down and be of service even to people who are not nice to you. And that’s a big lesson for me…”

我在受访中的不当言行，对于中国人民所造成的伤害，我非常难过和抱歉。在过去的20年中，我代表国际慈善组织，积极参与各项慈善活动，并真切地想帮助中国人民，奉献一己之力。去年，我的中国之行非常愉快，让我深刻感受到中国人民的智慧、友善与热情。
需要说明的是，我对于此次自然灾害中所有遭受不幸的受害者，表示最深切的哀悼与同情。我的错误言行，让中国人民感到悲伤与愤怒，我为此深感歉意。我再次强调，我愿意积极参与任何关于中国地震灾害的援助活动，并尽全力帮助受灾的中国人民。

5月29日，曾对四川地震大发不良言论的莎朗·斯通在接受《纽约时报》采访时表示，看完那段“地震是报应”的视频后，感觉自己像个“白痴”。不过，她坚持自己在戛纳的评论被断章取义，此外，她反对迪奥中国的危机处理方式，称以她的名义发表的道谦歪曲了她的本意。迪奥中国公关负责人对此表示：“迪奥应对危机的方式，是为了维护中国人的尊严。”（以上据2008年6月1日1065800手机报）
